Applicable objects: including metal plates, rods, pipes, forgings, welded joints, flanges, fasteners, gasket overlaps, heat exchangers, ships, and chemical equipment components and parts with gap structures.

Applicable environment: Suitable for chloride environments, seawater, saltwater, industrial corrosive media, marine atmosphere, high temperature and high pressure corrosion, and other environments that are prone to crevice corrosion.

Testing purpose: Used for evaluating the sensitivity of material crevice corrosion, grading corrosion resistance performance, verifying welding quality, evaluating heat treatment processes, selecting equipment materials, and analyzing corrosion failure.

 

Testing items

 

Sensitivity assessment of crevice corrosion: evaluate whether the material undergoes crevice corrosion in the test medium.

Crack corrosion morphology detection: Observe the corrosion location, morphology, area, and depth, and analyze the corrosion characteristics.

Critical crevice corrosion temperature (CCT) determination: Determine the critical crevice corrosion temperature of materials such as stainless steel and nickel based alloys.

Gap corrosion rate test: Use weight loss method or morphology analysis method to determine the gap corrosion rate.

Special testing of welded joints: detecting the tendency of joint corrosion in welds and heat affected zones.

Assessment of crevice corrosion level: Classify and evaluate the degree of crevice corrosion based on standards.
