Applicable materials: Suitable for various austenitic ferritic duplex stainless steels (including standard duplex steels such as 2205, 2507, and super duplex steels), covering duplex stainless steel materials of different grades and heat treatment states.

Testing purpose: Used for microstructure quality control, harmful phase precipitation assessment, material performance degradation analysis, welding quality assessment, service safety evaluation, and corrosion resistance/mechanical performance guarantee of duplex stainless steel.

 

Testing items

 

Qualitative detection of harmful phases: Identify the presence of harmful intermetallic phases such as sigma phase, chi phase, martensite, Laves phase, carbides, nitrides, etc. in duplex stainless steel.
Quantitative analysis of harmful phases: Determine the volume fraction or area fraction of various harmful phases and evaluate their impact on material properties.
Metallographic observation: Observe the ratio of austenite ferrite phases, grain morphology, and distribution characteristics of harmful phases.
Corrosion performance correlation testing: Evaluate the impact of harmful substances on the corrosion resistance of materials through tests such as pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and intergranular corrosion.
Mechanical performance correlation testing: Evaluate the influence of harmful relative materials on mechanical properties such as toughness and strength through Charpy V-notch impact testing, tensile testing, etc.
Microhardness testing: detecting differences in hardness between different phase zones, indirectly determining the precipitation of harmful phases.
Etching display test: Using specific chemical etchants to display harmful phases and assist in microstructure analysis.
