Test Results And Evaluation Criteria For Building Materials Testing
Dec 05, 2025
The evaluation of building material testing results is based on comparing measured data with the limiting values specified in standards or design requirements. The evaluation criteria clearly define the acceptable limits, grading classifications, or performance assessment criteria for each performance indicator. For example, the measured yield strength of reinforcing steel must not be less than the characteristic value specified in the standard; the tensile strength of waterproofing materials must meet the minimum requirements of the corresponding product standard; and the formaldehyde emission of interior decorative panels must be below the national mandatory limit.
The results report should be a complete technical document, typically including: client and manufacturer information, sample description and identification, applicable testing standards, instruments and equipment used, testing environmental conditions, detailed test data and calculation results, conclusions on compliance with standard requirements, and the testing date and authorized signatory. For non-conforming items, the report will clearly indicate the specific clauses that are not met.
