Putty Testing

Putty (filling mud) is a decorative material used to level the surface of walls. It is a thick paste coating and an essential product before painting. Apply on primer or directly on objects to remove uneven defects on the surface of the object being coated. It is formulated with a small amount of paint base, additives, a large amount of fillers, and an appropriate amount of coloring pigments. The pigments used are mainly iron red, carbon black, chrome yellow, etc. The fillers are mainly calcium bicarbonate, talc powder, etc.

Commonly used putty can be divided into water-resistant putty, 821 putty, and adhesive putty according to different engineering projects and purposes. Waterproof putty refers to putty that can meet the "N" type standard in JG/T298-2010 "Putty for Interior Use in Buildings"; 821 putty is a type of putty that does not have water resistance and can only meet the "Y" standard in JG/T298-2010; Glue putty is generally divided into two parts: glue and mineral powder, which are mixed by workers on the construction site. Divided by product appearance: powder: a white powder product composed of cementitious materials, fillers, and inorganic additives. Paste: white paste two-component consisting of synthetic resin lotion and additives: glue liquid and white powder. The types of putty are divided into: wall putty, water-resistant putty for interior walls, water-resistant and crack resistant putty for interior walls, putty for exterior walls, water-resistant putty for exterior walls, flexible putty for exterior walls, waterproof putty, flexible crack resistant and waterproof putty for interior walls, furniture putty, wood putty, nail hole repair putty, and water-based wood putty.
