Standard Testing Methods And Procedures For Polymer Materials

Dec 13, 2025

The standard testing procedure begins with proper sample preparation.

First, standard test specimens of specified dimensions and shapes are prepared using tools such as cutting knives, injection molding machines, or compression molding machines, according to relevant standards. The specimens are then conditioned as required.

Before formal testing, the instruments used must be calibrated and verified to ensure they are in a valid metrological state.

The specific testing steps strictly follow the standard methods: during tensile testing, the specimen must be accurately clamped in the testing machine's grips, the loading speed set, and the test started until the specimen breaks. The system automatically records the load-displacement curve and calculates various strength and deformation parameters.

Throughout the entire testing process, laboratory environmental conditions must be strictly controlled, and detailed records of sample information, test conditions, raw data, and any observed anomalies must be kept. All operations must prioritize the safety of personnel and the integrity of the data.
