Testing items and scope for chemical product testing

Jan 15, 2026

Chemical product testing covers a wide range of items, which can be broadly categorized into the following major types: First, physical property testing, including density, viscosity, melting point, boiling point, flash point, ignition point, particle size distribution, color, and pH value; second, chemical composition analysis, covering quantitative analysis of main components, impurity content (such as heavy metals, sulfur, chlorine, etc.), moisture content, ash content, solvent residue, and analysis of additives or auxiliaries; third, structural identification, using spectroscopic and chromatographic methods for molecular structure characterization; fourth, safety and environmental performance testing, such as corrosivity, oxidizability, toxicity, flammability and explosiveness, biodegradability, and ecotoxicity; and fifth, application performance testing, evaluating stability, catalytic efficiency, degree of polymerization, and compatibility based on the specific use of the product.

The testing scope covers various organic chemicals, inorganic chemicals, polymers, fine chemicals, petroleum products, dyes, coatings, pesticides, fertilizers, etc. The tested objects include raw materials, intermediates, and final products, as well as substances in their state after storage, transportation, or use, ensuring comprehensive quality and risk control from source to end-use.
