Specific testing items and scope for building materials testing.
Jan 03, 2026
Building materials testing covers a wide range of parameters and objects. The main testing items include: mechanical properties, physical properties (such as density, moisture content, thermal conductivity, water absorption), durability properties (such as freeze-thaw resistance, impermeability, carbonation resistance, corrosion resistance), and chemical and environmental performance (such as chemical composition analysis, radioactive nuclides, and volatile organic compound emissions).
The testing scope is clearly defined for various types of building materials, mainly including: structural materials (such as cement, rebar, concrete, mortar, bricks, and blocks), functional materials (such as waterproofing membranes, insulation materials, decorative materials, and coatings), and composite materials. Testing can be performed on raw materials, semi-finished products, finished products, or materials in existing buildings, and must be carried out under specific environmental conditions stipulated by standards or agreed upon by both parties to ensure the accuracy and comparability of the results.
