Introduction to Metal Material Testing

Jan 08, 2026

Metal materials testing is a technical system that evaluates the quality of metal materials and their products through various techniques, including mechanical property testing, chemical composition analysis, metallographic examination, precision dimensional measurement, non-destructive testing, corrosion resistance testing, and environmental simulation testing.

The testing scope covers ferrous and non-ferrous metals, mechanical equipment and parts, including steel profiles, pipes, stainless steel products, fasteners, valves, etc. Key parameters include the content of elements such as manganese, phosphorus, silicon, carbon, and sulfur, as well as mechanical properties such as tensile strength, hardness, and impact toughness. The testing process utilizes equipment such as inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometers (ICP-OES) and atomic absorption spectrometers (AAS), and adheres to national and international standards such as ASTM. The test reports are certified with CMA accreditation.
